Stretch marks on the abdomen, the hips, the thighs or the breasts are scars in the deeper skin where it stretched faster than it could grow. In our practice they are treated with the Fractional RF applicator, fine needles delivering radiofrequency heat under the marks so collagen rebuilds. No BTL or FDA wording names stretch marks for Exion, and we say so plainly. One to three sessions four to eight weeks apart in our practice, at Exion Clinic, 8 Devonshire Place, with the price in writing at a free consultation.
What it does on stretch marks
Older, pale stretch marks flatten and blend as the collagen in them remodels and the surface renews; newer, red or purple marks respond more, in our experience. How much the marks soften varies from person to person, and the clinician shows you at the free consultation what is realistic for yours. Loose skin between the marks is a separate question, which in our experience the Body applicator firms.
The evidence
No BTL or FDA wording and no Exion study names stretch marks, and we say so. A 2026 review of radiofrequency microneedling across 41 studies found benefits for stretch marks that varied from study to study, which stands for the class of treatment rather than for Exion. The Fractional RF page sets out the applicator.
The session and who it suits
Numbing cream for about 30 minutes, then the handpiece stamped across the marked skin, in our experience 20 to 40 minutes; redness and swelling for one to three days, loose clothing over the area, sunscreen daily. Someone with stretch marks they want flatter and less visible, on most skin types after assessment, with darker skin treated at lower energy in our practice. Not with keloid scarring, an electronic or metal implant, and in our practice not in pregnancy or breastfeeding or over an active skin problem. The sessions page sets out the course.
